As can sometimes happen this time of year, the weather has been less than cooperative for corporate worship in the last 2 weeks. With a Christmas Eve service cancelled because of ice, fresh snow on Sunday morning and the forecast of snow for tonight’s Wednesday Bible study; we are often faced with the challenge of maintaining our church family connections while remaining safe.
Let me give a couple of suggestions for dealing with the winter worship blockades. First, all of our Sunday morning sermons are available online at www.cmbc.net under the sermons tab. So even if you cannot attend the service you can still be “up” on what God is doing among us at CMBC. Second, stay connected. Nearly everyone has a phone, and if you are reading this you at least have an internet connection. Use facebook, email or just a phone call to check in on Sunday School members and others that God may bring across you mind. Share prayer concerns, pray together, or share an insight from a personal devotion. All of these things can keep your spiritual fires hot even when the weather outside is cold.
The Scriptures remind us to “not forsake meeting together as some are in the habit of doing.” But it is nice to know that when the weather doesn’t allow us to meet in person, we can still meet up in the virtual world. God bless and…nice to talk to you today!
